The first month of our mechanical selections is over and how did we fare?
62 individual selections for 20 winners giving us a 32.3% strike rate at a 9.2% profit. We had selections from 17 of the 20 systems so only systems 4, 5 & 6 are still to open their account. System 5 is aimed at three horse fields so a selection from it might be a little while coming.
The notable failure for the month was what I've dubbed Unlucky System 13. Against a long term 40% strike rate it only achieved 3/14 (21%) for a loss of 33%. It's due to go off at some point and I expect it will rack up a few wins in a row.
On the plus side of the ledger is System 18, which achieved 3/8 at 152% profit and included a $12 winner. System 7 did what it's been doing for ages and getting winners at a better than 50% strike rate with a strong profit. It really is a cracker. Could be famous last words there; hope I haven't put the mocker on it.
We were a bit unlucky not to get a couple more home but at the end of the day we squeezed out a profit and that's what it's all about. Not bad for a free service.
