Comments: What a great return to racing by Haradasun. Nash Rawiller bounced the horse out, was content to sit three deep right behind the speed, let the horse amble to the lead at the 200m and never got out of second gear without behind hit with the whip. Eclair Passion did well to finish runner up and he's obviously in for a good autumn campaign. Our three POOMAs yesterday never really got our hopes up, all being comfortaby beaten.
Rosehill 1-1 Typhoon Zed is an up and coming sprinter that has a nice turn of foot. There's not a heap of speed, and you'd expect Astounded to lead, so it'll be a sprint to the line, which always serves to reduce winning margins. Typhoon Zed should park right behind the speed and get his chance to run them down under his 58kg. 4-9 Fly First comes from a system that's been performing at 36%/50% for nearly two years with a heap of selections however this race might be a little ambitious for him. In his favour is that he has no weight and the step up in trip seems to have improved him but against him are some seasoned campaigners that would have won the race he was in last time by about 14 lengths if they were in it with the same weight. He's a genuine $30+ shot, for mine, but I'll have a little e/w bet. At Moe we have a selection from our current (non) favourite system that has begun the year with a 2/11 record against a long term strike rate of 43% so maybe the well named 7-1 Ready For Luck can reverse the trend. He has struck form this campaign but needs to overcome a wide gate and 58kg. There's a couple of others that I think might run fair races today. Rosehill 7-12 Zoo City Lad gets into the race with no weight, a good gate and OK recent form. I also expect 8-1 Soul Diva to go close in the last at Sandown. She's a real mile specialist with a 4/5 record at the trip
