Comments: 2 from 2 yesterday and it was another of those days where both winners were never in trouble. Maltese was a terrific result in the first at Warwick Farm paying $2.60 in the small field, which she brained by 4L. The Waterhouse trained Euro Chic was backed into near favourite but if you saw its last trial then you couldn't have come at it today. Its presence gave us another $1 on the dividend. De Castella worked to the front and always had his race under control, getting home by over 2L at a handy $2.90.
Eagle Farm 8-1 Ironside went into my black book after his 2nd two runs back and then did the right thing by scoring easily at the Gold Coast when coming from near last on the turn. He is an impressive looking galloper and the step up to a mile, good barrier and weight after the claim all mean he's very well placed and should go very close.
The two Cranbourne selections come from systems with 40% strike rates that are a bit iffy profit-wise. Bunbury 5-6 comes from a system that's 9/41 (22%) at a 22% profit. I can't work out whether it's going to end up as a decent, working system but every time I think about culling it, out pops a winner so its last 30 days are profitable, as are its last 90. I'll give it another 100 selections and see where it's at.
