Comments: 1 from 2 yesterday returning $3.60. I was very happy when I saw a fair amount of pace in Count Vladimir's race, as that allowed him to settle out the back and power over them late. He has good ability and can win one of those Class 3 midweekers in town. Our other POOMA, Bianomour, had a terrific run in the race, got out in plenty of time but couldn't reach the leader and eventually got run over to finish 4th in a disappointing performance. A couple of doctors for the POOMAs today starting with Kilmore 5-8 Young Doctor. This Tom Dabernig trained mare has struck form by winning her last two starts over shorter trips, the last of which was at this track. The step up in trip is suitable and my only concern is that she's by Jeune and the track is rated dead. It's not a breed that is generally too happy in the wet. The two systems that picked her make their 2007 debut today. Port Macquarie 7-10 Doctor Wu is an in and out customer that is yet to rise to any great heights as a racehorse. Fortunately for our chances, that statement applies to the rest of the field, as well, so from gate 1 he'll get a chance to be in the finish.
