Comments: Yesterday was 'one of those days' where I went close to some good results but ended up sans cigar (I might use that as a horse name one day). I had the Ascot quaddie running in the last leg with 5 chances and ran a neck 2nd, which was painful as the divvie was over $7K. Anyhoo, we struck well with that non-POOMA 50%+ s/r system at Mornington when both selections lobbed at $3.20 and $2.60. It might join the ranks of the POOMAs in 2008 if it continues at its expected rate. Geelong 4-1 Leonardo has returned from a spell in good form, finding the line hard twice to record narrow wins in Maiden and Class 2 company, and the step up in trip looks ideal. This is a Class 3 race but only one of the six runners has won three races so it's probably not much different to his last race.
Off Topic: reports overnight from the USA that a wild hog weighing eleven hundred pounds has been killed in a suburb if the state of Georgia. If it's true then the hog weighs about the same as a horse!
