SELECTIONS - 7 April 2005

Albany 3-1 Titcherman won his Maiden last time and this race is no harder. There only look to be three chances and he'll be better than $3 so that'll do me.

Geelong 2-2 Jeanarmour from the on-fire Freedman camp is by on-fire-sire, Redoute's Choice, so that'll do me. Favourite early is the filly Zedavita but I'd also keep an eye on Freedman's other runner, Empress Lily, as his first starters have been doing well recently regardless of their price.

Geelong 4-8 Polyesta Sylvesta from the Mick Price camp is reported to go pretty well and with Noel Callow on board from gate 6 might be the goods.

Geelong 5-6 Garbo's Storm drops in grade from his last three city runs. Should position himself handy to the lead and be right in the finish.

Geelong 7-4 Red Sphere has drawn the car park but has been very impressive in two runs so far. He came from 12 of 12 last time to just miss in a similar class race to this where he drops in weight. Expect to see Danny Brereton drive him forward from his barrier and either lead or sit outside the leader, which I expect to be 10-Snipify from her good draw. I can't see anything else that will push forward early and I expect he'll be right there at the business end along with Snipify and Hurricane Gust.

Townsville 1-1 Kooyong Crown has won its last two nicely. R McMahon takes off 2kg so he's very well in. We might get a price, as there are a few promising ones in the race. The quinella horse looks to be 4.
