SELECTIONS - 11 April 2005

Moe 1-1 Badger's Retreat has about a thousand classes on the rest of these as far as flat performances goes. He ran 2nd recently in a jumps trial at Cranbourne. I expect he'll probably go to the lead, as he's an on pace runner on the flat. Interesting to see a 4YO that's only had 12 starts going over the jumps in Benbara Black. He ran last in a jumps trial recently but that might not be a guide. Watch for Tycoon's Choice to fall over, as he did, unbelievably, in his trial.

Moe 2-9 Carla Etude comes into this race off a strong effort in town in a 3YO Fillies race over 1400m. She was last of 13 on the corner and steamed home to run 5th. The step up in trip to 1600m should be just the ticket to see her break through.

Moe 4-1 Commands Alot jumped straight to the front at Werribee two starts back and gave nothing else a chance in a strong form race. Then went into town and ran a good 4th. Should roll to the front, run them along and run away to win.

Queanbeyan 3-1 French Bride won a trial at Goulburn a couple of weeks back in smart time. John Nisbet has made a successful start to his career as a trainer and the Peintre Celebre mare should go pretty close against weak competition.

Queanbeyan 4-2 Just As Beautiful has had two starts over this course for two emphatic wins at her first two starts. She's been running around in stronger races and gets the chance to break back into the winners' list here.

Tamworth 2-6 Runaway Blaze from the Wales stable at Dubbo is 2nd up here after a good 1st up 3rd over a mile at Dubbo last time. Danger looks to be Natural Reserve who was close up in his only start.

Tamworth 6-2 Sir Winalot has been in great form recently. He hasn't won at 1200m but his 4 runs at the trip have all been in metropolitan company. Should go pretty close.
