RESULTS - 17 April 2005

4 from 16 today for a 5.2 unit loss was a poor effort. Most started too short to back and there were some shocking runs put in by our selections. I've sent a search party to Gawler to look for Crown La Cristi's leg, as it must have lost one on the way to the track to run 3rd in that field. It is obviously no good. We had some narrow losses - Alexander's Magic, long head; Courtianglen, long neck; and Steelworker, nose - but you take the good with the bad in this game. I'll need to work on getting the balance a bit better between the ones that are obviously going to be short and those that will be value - such as Mighty Mirage at Tatura where I read the way the race would pan out exactly correctly. Had to get one out of sixteen correct...!
