Bit worried about the going at Port Macquarie but we'll go with them anyway.
Port Macquarie 4-10 Patric is pretty well graded here in what is the weakest race he's been in since winning his Maiden on debut back in September. Last start he drew 12 of 12 in a Class 3 race over this track and distance and ran 4th only beaten 1.2 lengths. Back to Class 1 company and from the 2 gate he looks like a good chance at each way odds.
Port Macquarie 8-8 Fine Cheval is up in grade but down in weight on its last run in Class 5 company where he drew 12 of 12 over the Port Macquarie 1000m and was narrowly beaten, which followed up his good first up run where he drew 9 of 9 and ran 3rd. In the last six months he has raced against and beaten numbers 1,12,13,4 & 6 and meets all bar that last one on better weight terms. He's drawn really well and looks a really good chance. There are a few dangers in this race, which I think are 3, 5 & 1. I'll be interested to see how Luskin Letoile goes first up, as she's out of Starway Lady, which is the very first horse I ever owned. She was terrible, having 5 or 6 runs without looking like running a place before we sold her.
Warrnambool 2-1 Corajay just needs to run up to its last effort to feature here. The step up in trip should suit nicely. Danger looks to be 2.
