SELECTIONS - 11 September 2006

POOMA selections:

There are no POOMA selections today

Non-POOMA selections (and ruffies in red below):

Tatura 8-2

Today: It seems somewhat appropriate that they're racing at Bathurst, the place that Peter Brock made so famous. I wonder whether there'll be any omen tips? Numbers 5 or 10? Amiawinner in race 1? Mountain Of Light in race 7 to honour the King of the Mountain? Quinella with On My Honour? I'll have to have $10 on that. Global Reign would have been a POOMA selection at Tatura but it's scratched. 2-12 Play And Miss might be around $6, which would be a good price and 3-6 Ponbar Diamond's last couple of runs have been pretty good so it would have to be a fair chance.

Yesterday: I hope you got on Bolter's Show at Pakenham yesterday. He won his hurdle debut handsomely and paid a terrific $10 on VicTAB and $7 on NSWTAB (what will happen when the pools are combined?). Reflective ran an OK race for 3rd in the next race but the price of $2.80 was way too short given my price of $5-$6. Danahar kept the amazing record of the system that picked it by taking its record to 10/16 since going live in July. The others I picked out ran 2nd, which rounded out an OK day. A couple of impressive performances from horses that were coming off Maiden wins at their first start and into Class 1 company at a strong Bendigo meeting: Magic Jet in race 6 won nicely and Stavka showed a terrific turn of foot to dash away in the last. He's a 5YO that must have had problems to start racing so late and he's definitely up to midweek city company.

POOMAs: There were no POOMA selections yesterday.
