POOMA selections:
There are no POOMA selections today
Non-POOMA selections (and ruffies in red below):
Dubbo 4-12, 7-1, 8-9
Muswellbrook 5-3
Mt Gambier 2-4, 7-1
Today: Six maidens on a ten race card at Geelong make it a bit tricky. I can't see anything worth backing at that meeting at all. The same goes for Ipswich, which sees a rare heavy track. It's normally a great place to bet, as the form stands up, but I'd suggest leaving it alone today. A couple of the non-POOMAs come from good systems. Muswellbrook (where I have a 0% POOMA selection win strike rate but the system that picked it is 33/91 at 57% profit) 5-3 Majnoonah towled them first up when winning his Maiden and might be able to step up. Mt Gambier 7-1 Zetland comes from a system that's 11/30 at 21% profit and looks to be a good chance. Dubbo 4-12 Remains comes from a system I call Extreme Ruffies, which has had 21 selections since going live in August last year for 3 wins ($45, $16, $66) at a profit of 500%. It has a 33% place s/r at 72% profit, as well. On form you wouldn't go anywhere near this one but the same has been true of those others so you never know.
Yesterday: Not much to report from yesterday other than it's clear that following my two jumps selections, El Zahia and Stay All Day, for their next few starts should prove profitable, as they looked pretty good running the quinella at Bendigo with a big gap to third spot. I backed them both and took a dirty great quinella, which paid a nice $4. In race 4 there, the Japanese trainer, Shigemi, pulled one out of the hat with the win of Maximgun at somewhere between a million and a billion to one odds. Its form was not that horrible even though it hadn't run a place in 8 starts. Not that you could really have backed it, though. Exceed And Excel's '3/4' brother, Patronize, won his debut at Gosford but I really don't think he has much scope at all. Might be famous last words but when he goes into town I'll be taking him on if the field has any depth at all.
POOMAs: There were no POOMA selections yesterday.
